Students will hear Holocaust Survivor Manny Lindenbaum speak about his experiences during the war.
Manny Lindenbaum was born in Germany, was deported with his family to Poland, but upon reaching the border town of Zbaszyn, Polish authorities would not let their train go any further. The family remained there with two hundred others, living in a burned-out factory for a year. At that point, the Germans were about to invade Poland. His parents were faced with the agonizing decision of whether to send Manny, his brother and sister on the Kindertransport to England.
Mrs. Bennet’s class is learning about the Holocaust this marking period, including the Kindertransport, so this is a wonderful and rare opportunity for students to hear a speaker describe his experiences.
He will need one hour, allowing for a brief Q&A after his presentation.
